Art Psychotherapy

Specialist Psychotherapy in London’s Harley Street Medical Quarter, St Paul’s in the City of London, and online.

Many of us encounter periods in life when we turn to coping behaviours that later feel unmanageable whether that’s substance use, compulsive sexual patterns, or emotional overwhelm. In today’s high-pressure, hyper-connected world, these challenges are often compounded by stress, isolation, or unmet emotional needs.

To move beyond addiction or emotional dysregulation, it is essential to understand the full cycle — what drives it, what sustains it, and what healthier, more integrated patterns can take its place. Therapy is not simply about stopping a behaviour; it can support the development of a life that feels more balanced, connected, and internally coherent.

Reaching out for support is a significant first step. Therapy offers a confidential, reflective space to explore your experiences without judgement and to begin the process of meaningful, lasting change.

I’m Talid Khan, a London-based accredited Addiction Therapist, qualified Sex Addiction Therapist, and HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist. With over a decade of senior clinical experience including roles within leading private hospitals, the NHS, and at my main consulting room in the Harley Street Medical Quarter, I am one of few clinicians in the UK who is qualified with this unique combination of expertise.

I am recognised as a clinical specialist in working with addiction, compulsive behaviours and complex emotional difficulties.

I bring specialist training, clinical insight, and an integrative approach offering discreet, high-quality therapy tailored to individual needs.

Welcome to Addiction Therapist London where therapy is rooted in clinical expertise, emotional depth and genuine discretion.

Selecting the Right Therapist

Selecting the right therapist is essential. Your wellbeing merits the care of a professionally registered, accredited specialist with extensive training and a proven track record, not someone whose knowledge rests solely on brief courses or introductory certificates.

My Background

With over a decade of senior clinical experience including roles in leading London private hospitals, the NHS and Harley Street Medical Quarter.

My main consulting room is in a beautifully restored grade II listed building in London’s Harley Street Medical Quarter, offering a calm and confidential space for meaningful therapeutic work. My clients come from all walks of life including professionals, industry leaders, creatives, and public figures who value a quiet, expert-led space to speak openly and reflect with clarity. This is a sanctuary for psychological insight, emotional accountability and long-term change.

My style is warm, attuned, and non-judgemental. I meet each client where they are, while drawing on specialist training in addiction, trauma, relational dynamics, and neurodivergence. Whether we are exploring compulsive patterns or deep emotional themes, my goal is to support sustainable, integrative healing.

Integrated, Collaborative Care

I work in close collaboration with leading private psychiatrists, GPs, and trusted specialists in the UK and internationally. This allows for a joined-up, clinically robust model of care, ensuring therapy is not isolated but aligned with the wider needs of your wellbeing.

At the assessment stage, if I believe a client requires additional medical, psychiatric or specialist input before or alongside therapy, I will work carefully to ensure their emotional and physical safety is prioritised. I remain attuned to new and evidence-based psychiatric and medical interventions that complement psychotherapeutic work when needed.

Specialist Support After Residential Rehab

For clients who have recently completed treatment in a residential rehab facility (whether in the UK or abroad) this period of transition can feel especially fragile. The return to everyday life often brings new triggers, challenges and emotional demands that are very different from the structured environment of inpatient care.

I offer discreet, stabilising therapeutic support designed to help you maintain progress, navigate early recovery with confidence and build sustainable routines that support long-term wellbeing.

Where appropriate, I work closely with your existing treatment team to ensure continuity of care and a smooth, clinically informed handover. This is a space to consolidate resilience, strengthen relapse-prevention strategies, and explore deeper emotional work that may only emerge once the immediate crisis has passed.

For clients in the crucial first six months after residential treatment, I also offer a bespoke post-rehab aftercare service. This includes individually tailored treatment plans and priority booking options, designed to provide stability and support during early recovery. In my professional experience, many clients naturally seek this additional support at this stage which is why it is available as a considered, optional extension of my practice.

A Flexible, Personalised Approach

Sessions are typically held in person at my Marylebone office, with alternative arrangements available including St Pauls in the City of London and secure online therapy for both UK-based and international clients. Therapy is always tailored, private, and delivered with the highest standard of care.
