Practice Information

Approach and Methods

My practice is built on the belief that meaningful, lasting change happens when therapy is tailored to the whole person, not just their symptoms. I work with clients facing addictions, sex addiction, trauma, and complex emotional challenges, combining clinical expertise with a nuanced, highly individualised approach.

Psychodynamic Foundation

At the heart of my work is psychodynamic psychotherapy, an approach that explores the underlying patterns, formative experiences, and relational dynamics that shape thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This is not about dwelling on the past for its own sake, but about understanding its influence on the present, so that new, healthier patterns can emerge.

Trauma-Informed and Neuro-Affirming

I am deeply attuned to the ways in which trauma and neurodivergence affect emotional wellbeing. My work is informed by the latest understanding of nervous system regulation, attachment theory and sensory processing. This ensures therapy feels safe, validating and paced according to your needs (particularly important for clients living with the effects of complex or developmental trauma).

Integrative Clinical Tools

While psychodynamic therapy is my core modality, I integrate a range of evidence-based methods as needed including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques (CBT) – to develop practical coping tools
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) – to strengthen readiness for change
  • Relapse Prevention Planning – to support sustainable recovery from addiction
  • Psychoeducation – to deepen understanding of emotional and behavioural patterns
  • Art Psychotherapy – offering a non-verbal, creative route into experiences that may be difficult to articulate
  • Mindfulness-Based Strategies – to support present-moment awareness and self-regulation

In a field where backgrounds and approaches vary widely, choosing a psychotherapist with recognised qualifications, professional registrations and extensive specialist training provides an added layer of safety, depth and clinical rigour. My work is informed not only by knowledge, but by the experience and expertise to apply it safely, ethically and effectively in support of meaningful therapeutic growth.

Collaborative, Discreet Care

When a client’s needs extend beyond psychotherapy alone, I work in close collaboration with trusted psychiatrists, GPs and medical specialists in the UK and internationally. If I determine at assessment that you require additional or more intensive support (whether medical, psychiatric, or rehabilitative), I will work carefully to ensure your needs are met with the utmost discretion and clinical oversight.

Whether our work is short-term and focused, or long-term and exploratory, the aim is the same: to help you live with greater self-awareness, stability and freedom.
