I’m Talid Khan, an accredited Addiction Therapist, qualified Sex Addiction Therapist, and HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist. Over the past decade I have developed a specialist practice recognised for discreet, high-level psychotherapy for individuals facing addiction, trauma, and complex emotional challenges.
I trained at Roehampton University and have worked across both public and private sectors, including as Senior Psychotherapist at the flagship Priory Hospital Roehampton, within the NHS and in private practice. This breadth of experience gives me a deep, balanced understanding of complex psychological presentations and the nuanced needs of clients seeking high-quality care.
I am one of few clinicians in the UK who is qualified with this unique combination of expertise.
My practice is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, informed by developmental and analytical psychology (including the work of C.G. Jung). I draw on this clinical foundation in combination with extensive experience across Addiction Therapy, Sex Addiction Therapy, and Art Psychotherapy to provide integrative, personalised psychotherapy tailored to each individual.
In addition to client work, I have contributed to clinical innovation and service design. I played a lead role in redeveloping a flagship addiction programme at a leading private hospital in London, and in 2010, I pioneered an NHS Art Psychotherapy service that continues to support patients today. My professional interests also include the therapeutic use of digital media and the evolving relationship between visual expression and psychological healing.
I remain committed to ongoing clinical development, regularly contributing to published literature and specialist forums in psychotherapy and mental health. My work is clinically supervised, underpinned by discretion, depth, and a commitment to helping clients reconnect with a more integrated, authentic sense of self.
Client safety and wellbeing are my foremost priorities. From the initial assessment stage, I take care to ensure that each client is emotionally and physically ready to engage in therapy, and that the right level of support is in place. Where additional input is needed, I work collaboratively with trusted psychiatrists, GPs and other medical specialists to provide a joined-up, clinically robust approach.
